Tiruthankaa - Deepaprakasar Perumal

Otherwise known as Vilakkoh Perumal koil, this Divya Desam of Thonda nadu lies in Kancheepuram town itself, the erst-while capitall.of several dynasties. The Moolavar Deepa Prakasa Perumal is in standing posture facing west. He gave darsan to Saraswathi, the Goddess of learning and fulfilled her desire. The garbhagriha is sanctified by Srikara Vimana. The goddess is called Marakatavalli Tayar and the temple tank Saraswathi thirtha with a long legend. Tirumangai Alwar offered Mangalasasan. Nithyanaimithika worship is offered with due veneration. Consecrated by Pavana Saraswathi thirtha and situated in the big city. It enjoys a steady stream of visitors throughout the year.
