Tirunilathingal
Thundam - Nilathingal Thundathan
This
temple's Moolavar Nilathingal Thundathan perumal gave darsan to Lord Maheswar
and attended to his needs, when prayed for. This is included in the Tonda desa
Divya Thirupathis and lies very near to Kancheepuram railway station. The vimana
adorning the garbha griha is called Purushasukta Vimana and the temple tank goes
by the name of Chandra pushkarini. The Moolavar is in standing posture and faces
west. This is forming an integral part of the world- renowned Ekarnbareswar
temple and even the Saivates are adorning this All-merciful Iord with
unparalleled devotion. The Tayar is called by the long name of Neroruvarilla
Valli. Tirumangai Alwar offered Mangalasasan on his visit to this sacred shrine.
Nithyanaimithika worship is offered regularly.
