- Adi Varaha Perumal Temple
This ancient Vaishnava temple forming one of the 22 Divya desas of Thonda nadu
and lying near Kancheepuram railway station is dedicated to Adi Varaha Perumal.
The archamurti is in standing posture and faces west.
The garbha griha is adorned with Vamana Vimana and the holy tank is called
Nithya Pushkarini. Lord Aswartha Narayana was blessed by this powerful Moolavar,
when prayed during the troublesome period, he faced. The Mother is called
Anjilaivalli Tayar. Tirumangai Alwar offered Mangalasasan on his visit. Daily
worship is offered according to agamic tenets and the annual festivals are
celebrated with due veneration.
It
lies in Sivakanchi, in the walkable distance from railway station of
Kancheepuram, the famous pilgrim centre of Tamil Nadu.
