Tirijpavalavannam
- Pavalavanna Perumal Temple
This
is yet another Divya Desa sanctifying Kancheepuram, the then capital city of
many ruling princes. This is enshrining two Perumal icons each in a separate
sannidhi. The Moolavar is in standing posture and faces west. He gave darsan to
Mother Parvathi and Ashwani devathas and lifted them when prayed, during their
trouble-some period. The garbhagriha is adorned with Pravala Vimana and the
temple Pushkarini is called Chakra thirtha. The Mother is called Pavalavalli
Tayar. This kshetra is enshrining the image of Pachchavannar Perumal too. And he
is in standing posture facing east. It is an independent temple having its own
vimana called Matakata and tank Brighu thirtha. Tirumangai Alwar offered
Nlangalasasan to the deities on his visit.
It
is in Sivakanchi and very near to Mother Karnakshi temple and can be reached by
walk or auto.
