INTRODUCTION |
|
According to Indian
scriptures, each Yuga had its own characteristic of people and their special mode of
devotion to God. Krita Yuga was best suited for meditation. In Treta Yuga one attained
Godhood by sacrificial rites and rituals. During Dwapara Yuga it was by service to the
Lord. In the present Kali Yuga the way to attain Godhood is through the recital of the
name of God (Bhajana).
This principle has been scrupulously followed and publicly exhibited by example and
precept by one of the greatest votaries of Hindu Religion. And the Father of the Nation,
Mahatma Gandhi. His last breath uttered the name of Rama, the lord of the Universe. It is
he who has universally preached the famous Ramadhun. He not only preached but lived up to
it, so that his last breath merged with the ether with the name of Rama on his lips. |
