SRIVILLIPUTHUR

To these temples, Sri Andal and Raja- mannar are taken in a grand procession during the seventh day of Adi festival and the Sayana Sevai worship is conducted on a platform within the Koradu, with stone pillars of excellently carved figures.

Tirupati Srinivasa temple is on the top of a hill 100 feet high and 2 and half miles away, north of the town. Thousands of pilgrims on the Saturday, in the month of Purattasi (September-October) worship at the temple.

Kallazhagar temple. This is situated on a hill in the valley of the Western Ghats, seven miles in the west. There is a refreshing fountain Noopuraganga, at the foot of this hill. Vatapatrasayee was the original deity of Srivilliputhur before and, was born. Lord Vishnu is in a reclining posture on his Couch of Adi Sesha. Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi, his consorts, are attending to the divine service at his lotus feet.
