In
tracing the spiritual descent of Sri Andal, we come across her mysterious relations with
the material world. In Srivilliputhur
theyre lived a very pious Vaishnavite Brahmin by name Vishnu Chitta. True to his
name (Vishnu Chitta meaning 'he whose heart is always occupied by thought of Vishnu'), he
was a great devotee of Vishnu. He had a s garden where he grew the sacred Tulasi, which he
daily made with other fragrant flowers into handsome wreaths and offered to the Lord( the
place Vatapatrasayee (thesleeper on the banyan leaf at the time of deluge).
One day while digging his garden Vishnu Chitta
found to astonishment a glorious child covered with sod just in the manner which King
Janaka discovered Sita while plugging the field. |
