The
Balance
Hindus can be politically tolerant of all
religious beliefs and still remain strong defenders of their
venerable traditions. They can bring out a critique of religion in a
way that is kind and helpful, yet does not ignore what are from the
standpoint of Hindu Dharma errors in the theology and methodology of
other groups. Hindu Dharma has much deep wisdom that can cut through
the illusions that keeps the human race bound in ignorance and
materialism.
Such cutting through illusions cannot be painless
or pleasing to everyone. But if no one will challenge falsehood in
order not to upset anyone then the truth can never prevail. Hindus
must learn not to weaken the necessary intellectual and social
defense of Hinduism in the name of politics. Otherwise they will
remain the slaves of the opinions of other religions, which can
never be favorable and will be ever more demanding. |
