KANCHI - DEVAGARBHA DEVI MANDIR
Mother
Sati's kankal-skeleton fell at Kancheepuram and the present Kamakshi temple is
regarded as that of Sakti-Peeth. The ancient name of the Mother is Devagarbha.
The sentinel is called Rurubhairava.
It
lies in Kanchipuram of Tamil Nadu, one of the seven pilgrim centres of All India
fame. It is accessible by train and bus from Madras or nearby town.

KALAMADA - KALI MANDIR
The
place where Mother Sati's Vamanitamba-left buttock fell is called Kalamada and
the goddess worshipped goes by the name of Kali. The sentinel's name is Asitanga
Bhairava.
