Ayurvedic Massage and Marma Therapy
Ayurvedic massage relies heavily on the oil and steam treatments that
accompany Pancha Karma. Yet it can be applied apart from Pancha Karma to treat many different
conditions.
Ayurvedic massage emphasizes the use of medicated oils externally, specially prepared
by cooking powerful herbs in the oil base. Such oils provide a nutrition
to the skin and through the skin to the muscles, bones and nerves, which otherwise cannot be gained.
Like the acupuncture points of Chinese medicine, Ayurveda also has its sensitive marma points.
These points can be treated by massage, herbs, aromatic oils or the application of heat and thereby
can aid in balancing the energy flow in the body and cure disease.
