Tiruchitrakoodam - Govindaraja Perumal Temple

Lord Govindaraja Perumal reclining on Adisehsa gives darsan in this kshetra, forming one of the many Divya Desams of Chola Nadu. The Moolavar is facing east and gave darsan to three thousand gods, when sought His Saranu during their trouble-sonic period. Even Kanva mahamuni and Lord Siva too were lifted by Him, and He showered boons to their satisfaction. The Goddess is called Pundarikavalli and the temple Pushkarini, Pundarika thirtha. The garbha griha is adorned with Satwika Vimana. Saturika Peria Alwar, Tirumangai Alwar, Kulasekhar Alwar offered Mangalasasan on their visit. Daily and annual festivals are carried on with due devotion.

It lies near Chidambaram railway station, accessible by walk or auto.
