Tirunagari
- Vayalali Manavala Perumal Temple
This
ancient kshetra enshrining Vayalali Manavala Perumal comes under the Divya
Desams of Chola nadu and claims the distinction of havi,qg another famous
Vaishanava kshetra dedicated to Lord Narasimha in its vicinity. The Moolavar is
in sitting posture, facing west. He gave darsan to Kasyapa Prajapathi and also
the illustrious Tirumangai Alwar. The Goddess is called Amrita Ghatavalli, and
the two temple Pushkarinis are going by the names of Ahlada pushkarini and
takshmi pushkarini. The garbhagriha is adorned with Ashakshara Vimana.
Tirumangai Alwar worshipped the Lord with his fragrant Pasuramala and the Lord
so was pleased with it, gave darsan to him to his surprise; A separate sannidhi
is built for him too. In its close proximity, say about 3 km off lies Lord
Narasimha shrine and the small village is called Tiruvaali. It is equally famous
and visitors to Tirunagari invariably worship this Lord too. They are built in
ancient Dravidian architectural style possessing all parts. Nithyanaimithika
worship is offered to these Lords with great devotional fervor.
These
two are lying near Sirkali railway station, accessible by town bus or autos.
