Tiruaadanur
- Aandalakkumeyyan Temple
Kamadhenu
- the celestial wish-yielding cow had the singular fortune of getting blessed by
this Lord Andalakkumeyyan in the bygone past. This holy kshetra had given asylum
to Kamdhenu at a critical phase in its life, and when it offered its soulful
prayers to this All- merciful IDrd, He lifted it instantaneously froth the bog
of sorrow. Hence forward it led a blissful life. This Lord has passion for
genuine worship, and whosoever prays devoutly - be it a quadruped or biped, he emancipists
the saranartha as certain as certainty itself. The name of the place is
appropriate since the divine cow enjoyed the vision of God. The temple built in
the Dravidian style of architecture possesses all parts and is adorned with Pranavaakara
Vimana. The Mother is called Sri Ranganayaki Natchiyar. And the temple tank goes
by the name of Surya Pushkarini. Daily worship is offered according to Agamic
tenets. And the periodical festivals lure huge crowds. Thirumangai Alwar offered
Pasuramala to this Lord eulogising the splendour of the place and grace of the
Lord.
It
lies about 6 km off Swamimalai in the Kumbhakonam taluq of Tanjore district of
Tamilnadu, and transport is not quite satisfactory.
