Pallepadu
- Channakesavaswamy Aalayam
This
ancient shrine said to have been built by Jagirdars belonging to Bijjala
dynasty is small in size, but big in fame. Although there is one more temple
here called Nageswaraswamy Alayam, the former is very popular and people throng
there always. Having received the rule's bounty, its architecture and sculpture
are alluring and contain all the essential parts, although modest in sue. The
annual festival - Rathotsav celebrated during Chaitra
masa attracts huge crowds and it is one of the biggest in this area. Annadana
and electrical illuminations are undertaken with great devotional zeal.
It
lies 10 km off Nanavapadu railway station in the Manavapad mandalam of Palamur
district of Andhra Pradesh, commanding transport facilities.
