Tiruchanur
- Sundararajaswamy Aalayam
In
the self-same compound of Mother Alimelumanga temple at Tiruchanur, this famous
Vaishnava temple is situated next to Sri Krishna Mandir which is lying to the
right of Mother's shrine. It is an independent temple with all the indispensable
parts, like garbhagriha, mukhamantap, etc. The ten-foot-high granite image of
archamurti is standing in samabhaga, holding disc and conch in upper hands and
keeping the lower right in varada pose, whereas the lower left hanging by side.
And is flanked by Sridevi and Bhudevi. On account of imposing size and majestic
posture, and adorning his forehand with broad Tripundra marks, this Perumal
looks exactly like that of Tirumala Balaji. And many mistake the icon as Balaji.
As it is enjoying the able and effective administration of TTD., spick and span
greet and lift the soul. The holy tank goes by the name of Padma Saras. Regular
daily worship is offered at four times a day and annual festivals are celebrated
with great pomp and splendour.
It
lies in Tiruchanur, 4 Km off Tirupathi, connected by four wheelers round the
clock.
