Incredible it sounds that a popular well-built temple came into existence in matter of six days. Even the conjures too accept their defeat at this monumental feat. And it is recorded that no temple was built in - such  a short period. History of any nation or age boast not of such miraculous act. Does this not hasten trip to that Lord's sannidhi, whose sports defy description?

This temple, though ordinary in size and sculptural wealth, contains all the essential parts. And the archamurti true to his name is quite captivating and wrings veneration by the viewers. Regular Agamic worship is offered and the periodical festivals - Rathotsav is celebrated with great devotional zeal. T here is conducted then Jatara lasting for days. Although there are other temples here, like Virabhadraswamy and Someswaraswamy, the magnetic pull of this Lord is far greater.

The little village once enjoyed the status of the capital of the Gadwal kings of Andhra Pradesh. It enjoys transport facilities.
